Morinville Youth Basketball COVID-19 Response
COVID-19 Update - June 23rd/2020
With the restrictions in place due to COVID-19, we don't have a clear picture of what our season will look like for 2020-2021. We are currently looking at the regulations in place from Alberta Health Services, Alberta Basketball and local schools/facilities, and are working to come up with a plan for hopefully moving forward with the season in the fall. This includes possible alternatives in the event of limited gym space or a lack of league play. We should have more answers for everyone soon.
As a reminder: we will NOT be accepting payments during our modified registration, as we don't have answers on whether or not our season will run as normal with the EYBA. Once we have answers and we can accept fees, and those that are registered via the Google Form will be notified first. At that time, those registered can submit their official registration, payment or withdraw if they so choose. We will then share on our website and social media platforms (Facebook/Instagram) after notifying those who filled out the registration form. Posting on our website/social media will likely be 24-48hrs AFTER those who pre-registered were notified.
Please keep in mind that registering via the modified form does not guarantee a spot on a Morinville Youth Basketball team. Although we are hopeful for a normal season, we do need to prepare for the possibility of a modified version for basketball. If we end up with any significant changes (such as limited gym space, cohort requirements, team caps etc.) we may have to make adjustments to our teams/programs that might prevent all of those that have registered from playing. Waitlists may take place with registration not confirmed until payment is received in full. We will do our best to make sure we won't have to turn away interested players, but be aware that it is a possibility.
Thank you for your patience and please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
