Guidelines for the MLC and Saville Centre

September 21, 2021 update from the Morinville Leisure Centre

As a result of continued consultation and additional clarification from the Government of Alberta, the following updates have been applied to the Morinville Leisure Centre and the Morinville Community Cultural Centre:
• Youth (ages 12 to 17) PARTICIPATING in sport, fitness, recreation and performance activities are only required to screen for symptoms; maintain 2-metres distancing and wear a mask (except while engaged in physical activity).
 
• Youth (ages 12 to 17) NOT PARTICIPATING in an activity must show proof of vaccination, medical exemption, or a negative test result to enter any facility.
- This includes spectators or using the concourse and common areas.
 
Anyone ages 18+ will be required to show proof of vaccination, medical exemption, or a negative rapid test result within 72 hours of a visit to facilities. Until October 25, 2021, proof of a single dose is considered acceptable as long as the dose was given more than 2 weeks before the time of entry to a program or facility. After October 25, proof of double vaccination is required and as long as it was two weeks prior to entry.

 

September 24, 2021 update from the Saville Centre

BASKETBALL AT THE SAVILLE COMMUNITY SPORTS CENTRE 
Restrictions Exemption Program Communication - September 17, 2021


YOUTH (Under 12)
Effective immediately, youth indoor basketball training and competition may continue. Participants are required to:
·         Screen for symptoms
·         Maintain 2 metres distancing except while engaged in physical activity;
·         Wear a mask, except while engaged in high-intensity activities; coaches are required to modify activities to allow participants to wear masks as much as possible
NO Spectators will be allowed in any facilities until further notice.

Youth under 12 will not need to provide identification, proof of immunization, or a negative test to access a facility or program.

ADULTS and YOUTH (12 and older)

Effective September 20th, indoor basketball training and competition may continue at the Saville Community Sports Centre.  In addition to the screening for symptoms; maintaining 2 metres distance and wearing a mask participants are required to:

 September 20 - October 4

·         Show proof of vaccination - proof of a single dose is considered acceptable

·         OR Show proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test

·         OR Show proof of medical exemption

·         AND Show government issued identification or the University of Alberta OneCard or school identification card (ages 12-18).

NOTE: Individuals who have not received a single vaccination by October 4 will not be permitted on University campus, which includes the Saville Community Sports Centre.

October 5 - October 24

·         Show proof of vaccination - proof of a single dose is considered acceptable

·         OR Show proof of medical exemption

·         AND Show government issued identification or the University of Alberta OneCard or school identification card (ages 12-18).

 October 25

·         Show proof of full vaccination - double dose is required

·         AND Show government issued identification or the University of Alberta OneCard or school identification card (ages 12-18).

FACILITY Check-In Process

ALL basketball participants will need to report to the designated check-in point at the Saville Community Sports Centre - West:

·  Please be prepared to show your digital MyHealthRecords, a print vaccination card, or a formal letter of exemption from a medical professional.

·  Please be prepared to show your government-issued identification, University of Alberta OneCard, or school identification card (ages 12-18).
